Ask the Physio

DO YOU ever wonder why when you go to the physiotherapist you are asked a multitude of questions about your history, symptoms, behaviour of symptoms, lifestyle, work life, leisure pursuits and goals?

The information that your physio is asking for gives a lot of ideas and clues as to what is going on in your body, as well as ideas of how and what to treat to attain your goals.

Questions such as: where is your pain? when did the pain start? how did it start? was there an incident? has it happened before? what makes it worse? what makes it better? what time of day does it bother you? What sort of work do you do? What activities do you enjoy? and what do you want to be able to do that you currently are struggling with? — are all important bits of the picture which your physio will piece together.
