STEPPING down as President of Beechmountain CWA, Leanne King said she had learned a lot in her two years as President.

“I feel lucky to be surrounded by women who are resilient and champions of the community,” she said.

“We really have become an integral part of the Beechmont landscape.”

Over the past year the group helped at makeshift community hubs during the Christmas storms, catered for a crowd of 200 people on Anzac Day as well as working on building more connections in the community, in particular further strengthening connections with Beechmont State School and their P and C Association.

Leanne was one of several committee members to step down from her role at the Annual General Meeting, with  

Kim Crow was elected unopposed as the new President, Jan Eastern takes over from Bronwyn Lind as Secretary and Alison Johnson was elected unopposed as Vice President.

Treasurer Julie Hill and International Officer Linda Munster will continue in their roles.
