As 6,000 people descend on Canungra township for the Canungra Rodeo, tickets to the sold out event have become a hot commodity.

The Canungra Show Society, the organisation that runs the Rodeo, has warned people to be wary of scammers selling tickets online and for those who have ticket, to rug up as temperatures are predicted to drop close to zero overnight.

Known locally as the coldest night of the year, the action started at Canungra Showgrounds at 11am, with a full day of barrel racing, steer wrestling, bull and bronc riding for the keen rodeo fans.
