From rainforest retreats and vineyard views to alpacas and boutique farmstays, Canungra’s tourism operators have earned statewide recognition as part of the 2025 Best of Queensland Experiences program.
The program, delivered by Tourism and Events Queensland, showcases the state’s most consistently high-performing tourism businesses across categories such as accommodation, tours, attractions, and food and drink.
This year, 2,341 operators across Queensland were named as Best of Queensland Experiences, with 534 achieving perfect scores.
Canungra was well-represented in the results, with local Binna Burra operators Tiny Wild Houses, Rainforest Campsite, Safari Tents, Sky Lodges, Binna Burra Tea House, Clandulla Cottages & Farmstay , Country Mile Escape, Mountview Alpaca Farm, O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards, O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat, O’Reilly’s Villas, The Flying Bean Café and Beechmont Estate all acknowledged for delivering outstanding visitor experiences.
The Scenic Rim region, which includes Canungra, continues to attract both local and international travellers seeking nature-based escapes and authentic rural experiences.
Tourism Minister Andrew Powell said the program aims to set a high benchmark for excellence.
“Our tourism operators are the people on the ground who bring our beautiful state to life for more than 28 million visitors each year,” he said.
Tourism and Events Queensland CEO Craig Davidson noted the growth of digital capabilities as a key factor in improving the visitor experience, with more than 3,400 Queensland operators now offering direct online bookings – more then double the figure five years ago.
“This significant uptake in tourism capability shows the importance of the program in setting best practice criteria for businesses to strive towards,” Mr Davidson said.
