IT SEEMS there is no stopping the expansion of O’Reilly’s as one of the Scenic Rim’s most progressive and innovative tourism and accommodation operators.

Adding to their vineyard, camping grounds and mountain villas they have now opened a eco-luxury retreat featuring six exclusive chalets they have named Pat’s Farm.

Their latest escape is nestled on the hillside of a working cattle farm, surrounded by the Lamington National Park.

O’Reilly’s Managing Director, Shane O’Reilly, said each of the six off-grid chalets had been designed with sustainability and indulgence in mind, offering two occupants a secluded eco-luxury retreat.

“Guests can enjoy quiet evenings by their private fire pit or rejuvenating soaks in a two metre deep heated plunge pool or stargazing in a couple’s hammock,” he said.

“We also offer a true paddock-to-plate experience by providing an opportunity to pre-order a special O’Reilly’s Farm Box for two adults, filled with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients which Includes two breakfasts and two dinners plus a gourmet cheese and fruit platter.

“For 98 years, the O’Reilly family has welcomed guests to experience the beauty and tranquility of the World Heritage-listed Lamington National Park and with Pat’s Farm, we are honouring this legacy with a unique blend of heritage and modern luxury.”

Pat O’Reilly purchased the property in 1911, originally operating it as a dairy farm until the 1950s before transitioning to beef cattle farming—a tradition that continues today.

Designed to honour the natural surroundings and the property’s rich history, Pat’s Farm reflects O’Reilly’s commitment to creating unforgettable escapes that celebrate the past while embracing contemporary comfort and sustainability.

These are far from ‘tiny homes’ – each Chalet is an architecturally designed, high-spec build with a low environmental footprint positioned to capture the breathtaking views over the ranges.

Four wheel drive or SUV vehicle access is recommended to comfortably reach the Chalets, but O”Reilly’s can provide transfers for a fee.

“Guest’s time at Pat’s Farm is all about escaping the everyday and embracing true relaxation and that begins with the perfect night’s sleep in a tranquil setting,” Shane said.

“The chalets are designed for year-round comfort with double-glazing, air-conditioning and high-spec insulation to protect from the harsh Australian climate.”

Celebrating local talent

Each chalet is curated with a handmade selection of locally produced artwork, including Terina Smith’s recycled creations and bespoke soft furnishings designed by Jen Robson.

“From its storied past as a working cattle farm to its transformation into an exclusive off-grid retreat, Pat’s Farm carries a legacy of care and connection to the land,” Shane said.

“This unique blend of history, heritage, and untouched beauty makes it a special destination.

“We are thrilled to offer guests a truly unique experience that blends luxury, privacy, and sustainability, we believe Pat’s Farm is the perfect destination for couples and nature lovers seeking a secluded getaway where they can reconnect with themselves and the stunning natural surroundings of O’Reilly’s.”
