IT WAS a night for women from ages 17 to 70 to dress up and kick up their heels.
Liz Corcoran’s second annual Girls Night Out had around 100 women gather at Albert Rives Wines, raising funds for local charity Community Cancer Care Canungra, which distributes funds to assist locals undergoing cancer treatment.
Liz said she was very happy with the fundraising result of $5,200.
“It was great, everyone had a lot of fun,” she said.
One of the highlights was playing musical bingo, where everyone had a card to mark off when they worked out which song had been played by the disc jockey.
Liz foray into event organising started when she was the coordinator for Turning Canungra Pink in 2022.
She organised the first Canungra Black Tie Ball the same year.
The Ball has been a resounding success each year, leading her to create the Girls’ Night Out in 2024.
The cause of the night was not lost on attendee, Kelly-Joe Uccetta.
“We are so lucky to live in this community, where people organise events to help other people with cancer,” she said.
“I think it is amazing.”
Liz has planning underway for the 2025 Canungra Black Tie Ball on October 18 which will be held at O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyard.
Tickets will be released in June, but keep an eye on the Canungra Black Tie Ball Facebook page for updates and announcements.
