FIRST EDITION

In May 2005, the first edition of the Canungra Times was published.
For the past twenty years, local community news has been shared each month to our readers.
Here is a snippet from the Editor’s welcome of that first edition, by Stu Comley who started the paper:
“Hi everyone and thank you for taking the time to read the all new Canungra Times.
The Canungra Times will, after this initial issue, be printed and distributed each month as close as possible to the first of each month.
All community group news and local articles will be included free of charge as will input and content offered by local people.
It is anticipated that the paper will increase in size over the next few months plus I will also consider a mail drop in the future. The Canungra Times will be available from most outlets around town as soon as is it printed.”

She was very well supported by a large group of locals from Canungra. Erin is very pro-active in the community and is volunteer minded. Erin resurrected the Canungra Loggers Football team administration and has been Secretary for the club for more than five years.
At the ceremony, 28 residents from the Scenic Rim region also celebrated their first Australia Day as Australian citizens.
