A Message of Hope

News from St Luke’s. April 2025.

Hope, a small word which enters so many of our daily thoughts. I am sure we all hope for something every day.

Maybe you simply hope you are not late for an appointment, you hope your children do well at school, or you hope you can fulfill your dreams.

As mentioned last month, the Anglican Church will commence its “Hope 25” initiative immediately after Easter.

This “Hope 25” period from Easter to Pentecost is designed to inspire contemplation of the hope we have in Jesus.

I know I am always hoping for something, and this happened when I was away from the Gold Coast as Cyclone Alfred was approaching.

I was off grid and had no communication to know how threatening it was.

Very closely associated with my hope, were my prayers. I prayed continuously the cyclone would not cause too much devastation.

I prayed for everyone’s safety and that my family and my home would be safe.

While I could not return home to take care of things I knew and trusted God would hear my prayers.

Hope and prayer go hand in hand and St Luke’s offer the opportunity for all to come by each Tuesday and Wednesday after Easter.

During “Hope 25” the Church will be open from 10am until 1pm for you to rest, relax, contemplate and pray.

There will be a free cuppa available as well.

You are welcome to drop in for a minute or an hour – just to feel God’s presence or to seek a quiet moment in your day.

Little Lukies and SLAngers Youth Group will both be in recess over the school holidays.

May the children enjoy their first term break and may you all enjoy the holiness and hope of the Easter season.

St Luke’s will have services on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Check the notice board for those times.
