I recently attended a large funeral of an elderly man who passed away suddenly.
The eulogy reflected on his life from early childhood until his passing, and this made me stop and think carefully about Christian commitment.
As a younger person he was not the easiest person to be around. He often overstepped the mark of right and wrong without much thought about how his actions would affect others.
However, later in the man’s life he turned to God and became a valuable and responsible member of his church. He committed himself to live his life to help others and seek God’s forgiveness for his wrong doings.
Some people may think it’s too late to ask for forgiveness for their wrong-doings, and therefore think it’s too late to seek God in their lives.
I believe it is never too late.
We have all been sinners but God will forgive all of us if we ask Him.
The recent Pitch Night, was a great evening of entertainment and St. Luke’s are very grateful to the Bendigo Bank for their generous gift to assist with our annual Christmas Carols to be held in the Church grounds on Wednesday 18th December commencing at 6.30pm. All are most welcome to attend.
St Luke’s are participating in the Garage Sale trail being held on Saturday 9th November. There will be many bargains available in the church as well as Devonshire Tea being sold outside. Make sure you come along and check us out from 8am.
It was lovely to have the baptism of little Quinton recently during our service, and to have his family and friend’s gather to support his parents.
“Little Lukies” continues every Monday after school and “SLAngers” our youth group, occurs fortnightly. Please read the board outside St. Luke’s for dates and times. SLAngers enjoy games, dinner and a message, and this is all free for the participants.
Blessings.
