The new year has begun for us all and I hope and pray you have plans for a safe and happy year to come.
If you are worried about what is ahead, remember you can share your concerns with God through prayer.
Often people don’t know where to begin, because they think prayer has to be done in a certain way.
There are no set rules, just talk to God and share your worries.
He will definitely hear you. If you would like to join us at St Luke’s on Sundays at 8am, you would find prayer comes not just through verbal words but also in silent thoughts and through the weekly service.
Our annual Christmas Carols, held on the December 18, certainly needed our prayers.
The threatening weather and rain required a sudden change of plans and thankfully the Canungra School of Arts Hall was available for the Carols.
It was a well-attended, wonderful evening.
Now that school has returned, it is time for Little Lukies to begin again.
As in the past Little Lukies is held each Monday afternoon, Term time, from 3pm until 4pm. The first time was on Monday February 3.
Why not encourage your Primary school children to attend for a fun afternoon? Afternoon Tea is provided and your child will enjoy games, entertainment and fellowship.
“SLAngers” our senior school Youth Group, will be changing a little this year. SLAngers is held every second Tuesday afternoon from 4pm-6pm.
Afternoon Tea is provided along with games and entertainment; the students are encouraged to have input into the activities they would like to learn about. This change of time and day will allow students to come straight from the school bus. The first SLAngers was on Tuesday February 4.
The year ahead looks very promising for St. Lukes.
Why not come and be part of a happy and friendly group each Sunday morning.
