It has been a busy month at St Luke’s and the remainder of the year will continue to be even busier.
Little Lukies and SLAngers continue their Monday gatherings during school term time.
The church was vibrantly decorated in Red for Pentecost Sunday, which celebrates the “Birthday” of the church and occurs 50 days after Easter.
Reconciliation Week: May 27 to June 3 is a very important time to commit to what this means.
St Luke’s Facebook page has an excellent video which explains the need for people to recognise justice, dignity and equal opportunities for all.
We recently catered for “Cuppa in the Communi-tea”.
Sponsored by the Scenic Rim Council, it is a great way to enjoy a free cuppa and meet locals in the park.
Despite inclement weather, it was a very successful event.
On Saturday June 6, St Luke’s will hold a well-stocked Street Stall, to be held outside My Country Escape between 8am and 1pm.
Our raffle will have three excellent prizes and it is with great appreciation we thank the Canungra Butchery for their very generous donation of a gift voucher for one of the prizes.
In October, the 90th Anniversary celebration for St Luke’s will include an art competition, where you have the chance to win accommodation for two at O’Reilly’s, and we are very grateful to have this donated prize from O’Reilly’s.
Details about the art competition and the application forms are available at the Canungra Information Centre, so why not start planning your entry.
Children will also be able to enter their own section and there will be three prizes in their category.
The children’s section will be advertised via posters at the Canungra State School.
Rev Helen has returned from her well-earned break and we thank Rev John Corner for his devoted input during the past month.
