I always attempt to complete the crosswords in the Canungra Times.
Sometimes the words just fall into place, while other times they just don’t seem to work.
However, the more times I do the crosswords, or go back to see if there is another word I know, the easier the crosswords become.
This is a little like attending church and reading God’s word.
Sometimes it is difficult to join everything together. Things such as Jesus dying on the cross.
Why wasn’t he saved from such a brutal death? Why didn’t God save his son? However, as the Bible explains, this was all part of God’s plan to forgive us, the people, for our sins.
Attending church can be a bit like a crossword puzzle.
Sometimes we gain a very clear picture of how to live so that after death we may receive the gift of eternal life.
Faith and trust are two words which would stand out to me in a crossword and they are two words which have very strong and clear meanings. There is no doubt where they would fit in a crossword about St Luke’s.
One of our recent intercessional prayers would certainly help with any clues relating to understanding God’s word.
It read “Holy God, as we gather in fellowship, to hear your word, to sing your praise and to break bread, walk with us as individuals and as the church of God. Open our eyes, as you did with Jesus’ companions, to the reality and truth of the resurrection.”
With our 90th year anniversary occurring in October, we are pleased to know St Luke’s is to be recognised on the Heritage Trail being developed by the Scenic Rim Council.
A story marker giving details about St Luke’s will be installed in front of the church. This will be an exciting addition for our 90th year.
Little Lukies and SLAngers are meeting each Monday after school.
