MEMBER for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, has encouraged young people within the electorate aged 15 to 25 to nominate to become a member of the 2025 YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament.
“We have had some wonderful Youth Parliamentarians represent our electorate over the years and I am always impressed with the dedication and enthusiasm they demonstrate,” Mr Krause said.
“A seat at the table in the Queensland Youth Parliament is a chance to gain public speaking and leadership skills and knowledge about the parliamentary process.
“Members of the Youth Parliament are the voice of young people in their electorates, and anyone aged 15 to 25 with a passion for their community can nominate to be a part of the program which is seeking a diverse range of nominations.
“No specific experience or background is required.”
Applications close on February 14.
The Youth Parliament program is accredited with the Queensland Studies Authority as a Community Based Learning Unit, which means Year 11 and 12 students taking part in the program will receive credit towards their Senior Certificate.
