Lorna Dunwell’s dedication, talent, and versatility make her a true standout among our young athletes and artists.
Lorna has been a passionate swimmer since she started training under coach Sue Harrison at the Canungra Pool in 2023.
Her commitment is evident in her weekly training sessions and her active participation in the Canungra Swim Club.
This season she took home a trio of awards and was named Junior Girls Age Champion, Junior Club Champion and received Junior Girls Encouragement.
Over the past three seasons, Lorna has consistently demonstrated her prowess in the pool by being named the Junior Girls Club Champion.
This year Lorna took her swimming skills to a new level by representing Tamborine Mountain State School at the Broadwater District Swimming Carnival.
Her performance at the event showcased her dedication and competitive spirit, earning her recognition among her peers and coaches alike.
Beyond her athletic pursuits, Lorna is also a vibrant member of the arts community.
She actively participates in her school’s choir and band, enriching her school life with musical talent and teamwork.
Her artistic talents extend beyond the school environment as well; she has been dancing at Loyalty Dance Co in Beaudesert under the guidance of Principal Jane Bennetts.
Lorna’s dance repertoire includes Ballet, Contemporary, and Hip Hop, reflecting her passion and versatility in the arts.
Her dedication to excellence and her ability to balance multiple interests make her a role model for her peers and a deserving recipient of the Moriarty Park Sportsperson of the Month award.
