Who can argue with the world needing peace at this juncture?

For over three decades, the Lions Club internationally has been sponsoring a Peace Poster Competition for Years Five and Six, to encourage children to think about peace and how to create it.

This year’s theme was ‘Peace Without Limits’.

  • My Country Escape
  • Canungra Law

In the context of global events, the competition was  particularly timely, prompting entrants to think about how to imaginatively express their visions of peace.

The Club is delighted that all three primary schools on Tamborine Mountain participated.

Their teachers encouraged research and created conversations to stimulate their students’ thinking and ways of expressing their ideas creatively.

The beautiful results are a testament to the efforts of all involved.

The winning entries are:

  • St Bernards State School – Natasha Nikiteev
  • Tamborine State School – Syntara Pipe
  • Tamborine Mountain College – Isabella Cross

Presentations were made by Lions Club Vice President Barbara Hams and Lions Peace Poster Co-ordinator Nicky Clark, who diligently oversaw the competition.

Congratulations to all entrants, the teachers and schools, and thanks to the Tamborine Mountain Library.

Finalists and winning posters are currently displayed in the library’s windows.
