POLICE investigations are continuing into a spate of offences that took place in the vicinity of Picnic Place and Riverbend Drive recently.

Thieves allegedly attempted to steal Darcy Christoffel’s motorcycle from his home at approximately 2am on February 20.

“Mum woke me up saying police were knocking at the door and they had received a tip off from someone in the estate that my bike was in the middle of the road,” said Darcy.

“They put it in neutral and pushed it down the road to get it started.  They tried to hotwire the ignition and they’ve cut all the wiring.”

The same night an additional three break and enter incidents occurred, including an attempted break and enter to a property, the break and enter of a vehicle and the theft of a Mitsubishi Triton.

Sergeant Sharni Jackson of Canungra Police Station said police investigations are continuing and they assume these incidents are related to similar incidents in Jimboomba.

“We have received some footage from residents with security cameras in the area but we ask that anyone with footage come to the Canungra Police Station,” she said.

Police have not been able to identify the number plates of the vehicles used by the thieves from footage already received.
