Residents have often wondered why the death toll of eight on the signs on Beechmont Road have been the same for about 14 years.
I remember them going up after the unfortunate motorbike rider crashed into the first sharp corner up from Advancetown turnoff.
The plastic frangipanis on the cliff wall marking the spot have long since fallen off. Since then, who knows how many deaths have occurred on the Beechmont Road?
And why does it still say eight?
