The 2020 Canungra Rodeo and Show have been cancelled due to COVID-19 ongoing restrictions.

At an Executive meeting of the Canungra AH&I Society, the unanimous decision was made due to health and safety concerns.

Canungra AH&I Society President, Roly Ethell said the call was in line with other rodeos and agricultural shows across the country in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I would like to thank our members, stewards, volunteers and the businesses and community members who have supported our events in the past,” said Roly, “We will start planning now for 2021 to ensure we come back next year with two top quality events for Canungra.”

“We had consulted with our volunteers and stewards prior to the meeting,” he said, “Logistically, even if some restrictions were lifted prior to July and August it would not be possible to plan and run our events which attract over 6000 people. We want everyone to stay healthy and safe this year.”
