Christmas Creek Road Update
Residents who travel on Christmas Creek Road will be pleased to hear that the funding has now been approved for the section of road badly damaged during the rain event of 2022 and that work will commence in early December with a proposed completion date of March 2024.
Business Excellence Awards
Thank you to all the local businesses who took the time to nominate for the 2023 Scenic Rim Business Excellence Awards. Our region has an array of hugely successful businesses which are all well worthy of recognition. My congratulations to the winners and finalists for 2023. The Beaudesert winners were Totally Flooring, Beaudesert Exhaust, McAuley College and Ned’s Restaurant.
Shop Local
I encourage our residents to try to support local businesses again this year in shopping for the festive season. These are the businesses that consistently and generously support community events and functions.
Take a look at the Gift Wrapped exhibition at the Centre Beaudesert where you can buy beautifully crafted one-off items made by our local creatives. This free exhibition runs until 16 December.
Christmas In Beaudesert
The Beaudesert Chamber of Commerce is hosting Christmas Carols in the Park on Friday 1 December in Jubilee Park. There will be a market starting at 4pm and carols from 5.30pm until 8.30pm. This is always a magnificent community event so bring your family for an evening of fun.
Cleanaway Investment
Cleanaway has announced plans to invest in a facility at Bromelton to generate electricity from non-recyclable waste diverted from landfill. This exciting development, which is currently seeking community feedback, will provide up to 800 jobs during construction and 50 long-term skilled jobs to the region. Christmas Wishes
As this is my final column for this year, I wish you all a very happy and restful festive season with family and friends, and I look forward to working together with you again in 2024.
