Customers have been raving about the new extension to Canungra Books and Art in Kidston Street.

“People are thrilled with the new space, the extra room to move about and the comfy seats,” said Jan McGregor, owner of Canungra Books and Art.

“It has taken a few months to renovate the new rooms with new paint, newly polished floors, and new lighting.”  It’s wonderful to have the extra space, it’s light and airy and just makes the shop feel completely different,” said Jan.

The new extension includes a large area for art and coffee-table style books and new bookcases and displays for antiquarian and vintage books, classics, history, Australiana and more.

A special quiet nook for cooking, gardening, flora and fauna provides a lovely airy space for pondering the next cooking or gardening project.

The original part of the shop is now being re-organised in coming weeks to improve the vintage clothing section, create a larger children’s area and other new ideas.

“People keep saying they need to come back and spend a few hours exploring the shop more, they are very excited,” Jan said.

A special opening will be scheduled once everything is in place.
