A large snake, identified by onlookers as possibly an Eastern Brown, managed to negotiate traffic on Kidston Street, Canungra, assisted by locals on site.

The snake began crossing the road from the corner of Lawton Lane and Kidston Street where people stopped cars to allow the snake to cross safely.

It traversed the grassed area, heading towards the playground.

Canungra Law

Canungra Times cadet journalist, Emily Livingston alerted families at the playground of the snake’s arrival.

Everyone moved a safe distance away to allow the large reptile to finish its journey into bushland behind the main street.
