Monthly nominee – Asiya Hickey
Asiya Hickey is the WKBF South Pacific Muay Thai champion.
The 16 year old claimed the title in March with a hard fought victory over a New Zealand opponent.
Commitment and dedication have paid off for Asiya who trains every day under the guidance of Dave Torrens at Canungra Muay Thai.
She is now looking for an Australian title fight for her next bout, and will be travelling with the Canungra team to fight in Thailand in March.
Monthly nominee – Holly Geiger
Holly Geiger has had an outstanding couple of years in school sport.
She was the Beaudesert State High School Age Swimming Champion in 2022/23, 15 years Cross Country Age Champion, and Fraser House Captain in 2020 and 2023.
She was selected in the Pacific District rugby league team in 2022/23, going one step further and making the South Coast team in 2023. Holly is also a member of the school Volleyball Academy program and took up woodchopping this year, finishing second in the 18 years underhand chop at the Canungra Show.
Holly lists playing her first game of rugby league at CBUS stadium and meeting QLD NRLW stars as a highlight.
She also paid tribute to the staff at Beaudesert High for the opportunities she has been given.
Holly was awarded the Beaudesert Bulletin Sportswoman of the Year at the BSHS Awards night in 2023.
