Canungra Owls Soccer Club will benefit from a win by Kokoda Barracks in the Senior Tractor Pulling Competition at the 2023 Winter Harvest Festival on Saturday 1 July.
The Kokoda Barracks team, pictured above with Mayor Greg Christensen and Cr Virginia West, consisted of army personnel based at the local barracks.
The team chose the Canungra Owls soccer team as the beneficiary of their $1,000 prize money.
The Kokoda Barracks team pulled the 17 tonne John Deere tractor 20 metres in a time trial against four other teams.
They took out the coveted prize in the fastest time, ahead of last year’s winners Butcher Co who came second.
