Sharing a love of music

Ludek Nemecek

Ludek Nemecek started teaching himself guitar at the age of ten before progressing to music schools.

Now, with thirty years’ experience under his belt Ludek is sharing his love for the guitar with children on Tamborine Mountain by offering free lessons.

“I want to boost the young musicians on the mountain and their passion for music,” he said.

Children up to the age of ten will be able to join Ludek’s own children, aged eight and ten for the lessons which will allow them to explore the instrument as well as learn the basics of music.

For older children Ludek still offers private lessons, which he has been running for five years.

The lessons are will be on every Tuesday at 4:30pm at Knoll National Park for 45 minutes until December, weather dependent.

If children have guitars, they can bring them and a mat to sit on. Ludek will have a couple of guitars available too.

Ludek said it was important for children to start as young as possible, saying it promotes concentration, allows children to hear melodies and even compose their own songs.

He hopes to encourage and inspire other local artists to also offer free classes for children on Tamborine Mountain.

“Parents can’t afford to sign children up to multiple activities and doing it for free is a great idea,” he said.
