On Wednesday September 18, Beechmont Rural Fire Brigade visited Mountain Mates as part of their vacation care activities at Beechmont State School.
Thirteen local children learnt about bushfire and home fire safety, the importance of knowing how to call 000 in an emergency and all about BM51, one of the Brigades two trucks.
They were very excited to use the water hose and help roll it up.
Lots of enthusiastic questions were asked and they enjoyed the Bushfire Preparedness colouring books and stickers.
There was a promise that they would share this important information at home.
