“Anzac Day Commemorative Day for both dawn and the main services are the responsibility of the Canungra RSL Sub Branch organisation and ably assisted by local volunteers who support the veterans of all wars and conflicts since federation.
The community of Canungra this Anzac Day saw one of the largest ever attended turning out to show their Dignity and Respect to honour the local veterans.
This indicates that the efforts associated with the organisation of the event was not in vain.
The Canungra Sub Branch is proud of your support, especially from the younger generation who laid wreaths and floral tributes to remember their family members, who unselfishly volunteered their services, some paying the supreme sacrifice, in defence of this country we all cherish today.
We are grateful of the support provided by The defence department from Kokoda Barracks, Dignitaries from both local and state seats of government, The BBC old collegians band. and not forgetting Mr Christopher Duncan/Launder for hi excellantsong presentation of The Brown Slouch Hat, and Anthems and all those citizens and businesses who donated to the successful outcome of the day.
Canungra Sub Branch is alive and well, and all proceeds raised from the day goes toward supporting, past and present veterans and families in welfare and other well being programmes provided by the organisation.
