Wonglepong ceramics artist Julia Bramich Ceramics is joining forces with Tamborine Mountain and Guanaba ceramics studios to create a local trail with the Australian Ceramics Open Studios weekend on 11 and 12 November.
Australian Ceramics Open Studios is an annual, nationwide, weekend event now in its eleventh year, where over 200 potters and ceramic artists in cities and regional areas around Australia will open their studios to the public.
Within this Australia wide event a local group of six potters and ceramic artists have decided to take this opportunity to create a Tamborine Mountain and surrounding valley’s trail, called Pottery Road.
“We hope by joining together, we’ll create a trail which is worthwhile for visitors from all over the region to want to visit and to make it a day out in the Scenic Rim,” said Julia.
“Last year’s event was very popular and successful, so we plan on growing the local event in coming years.”
“We would love to see visitors, locals and our neighbours join in and visit us.”
The main focus is on artists opening their studios and giving people the rare opportunity to see where this precious work is being made and what a working studio can look like.
With Christmas not far away, this will be the perfect opportunity to acquire local quality made ceramics.
Open Studios shows the breadth of full-time, part-time, hobbyist, and the occasional dabbler ceramicists, providing a rare opportunity to see how they set up their studio.
Entry to all studios is free. For more information and a map of the studio trail, like the Pottery Road Facebook page.
