THEY say you can never get too much of a good thing, that is except if you are running an Op Shop and everyone wants to donate at the same time.

The Canungra Op Shop in Lawton Lane has had a constant stream of cars stopping by over the past month and every vehicle has been loaded up with clothes and unwanted goods.

“We are always looking for quality items and we hate to turn people away, but we have just run out of room, ” long-time manager Caroline Andrew said.

“I didn’t want to, but I had to put up a post on our Facebook page saying thanks, but no thanks.

“We even had to put a cover over our collection bin and while people were surprised we weren’t accepting their goods they understood.”

Caroline said they were now monitoring the situation and they hoped to be back accepting goods in the near future.

The Canungra Op Shop is one of the area’s biggest charity success stories and has donated thousands to local causes since it opened at the end of 2008.

The Op Shop also raises significant funds for Housing for Domestic Violence Victims.
