CANUNGRA Social Swim Club has a couple of changes this season.
Scott Harrison is the recently elected President and has brought some new initiatives with him.
“This year we are excited to announce that we are now a registered FairPlay Provider. Recent changes to the FairPlay system mean that all families are now eligible for vouchers, and these can be redeemed as membership for the entire Swim Club season,” says Raquel Hall, member of the committee.
“We are also in the process of registering with Queensland Swimming which will allow our swimmers to qualify for regional competitions across a greater number of events.”
Swim Club runs each Thursday from 5.30pm during the school term. Registrations are open all season for up kids up to the age of 17 who are able to swim a minimum of 25 meters unaided.
“If you’ve got any doubts about your child’s ability, come along and one of our coaches will do an assessment,” says Raquel.
“You’re also more than welcome to come and try out, to see if it is something that would work for your child.”
“Swim Club is a fantastic community group and a great opportunity for kids of all ages to get some exercise, improve their swimming skills and have some fun. Each week we have a sausage sizzle at the end of Swim Club (parents have the night off cooking dinner), and all members receive a swim bag, drink bottle and swim cap.”
