Krystal Turner has been living in Canungra for three years and had never seen a koala until recently.

‘Little Honey’ appeared in her yard a few days ago and has since moved into her neighbour’s yard.

Krystal’s think think it is great to have a koala so close by, but she is concerned about the dangers to wildlife as the town gets busier and koalas particularly are on the move during breeding season.

“There are loads of dogs that live in our area,” she said. We all need to keep a look out for the little wild things that we have in our town.”

Krystal couldn’t find any signs to let people know the is a koala near by, so she and her children set about making their own.

The koala is located near Beaudesert Nerang Road on the way into Canungra from the eastern side (coming in from Beaudesert), however Krystal said she has also recently seen them on her way to the Gold Coast.

If you find injured wildlife, please call Wildcare on 07 5527 2444.
