TAMBORINE Mountain Canungra Cricket Club has officially adopted Canungra, with Club members voting to change the Club name at their recent AGM.

The Tamborine Mountain Canungra Bushrats AGM was held on August 3 with the Club electing one of their biggest committees to date, a great sign for the future of the Club.

A special motion was passed to officially change their name with the Office of Fair Trading from Tamborine Mountain Cricket Club to Tamborine Mountain Canungra Cricket Club and to adopt the new constitution.

Canungra Law

The executive of Neil Bell (President), Hayden Buckman (Treasurer) and Dave Andrews (Secretary) were re-elected.

Bianca Della, Michael Mahony, Lana Rankin, Cam Orth, Cole Fletcher and Pearce Eldridge were elected to the committee with Pearce holding the role of Vice President.

This further strengthened the Canungra connection, with Bianca, Michael, Lana and Pearce all from Canungra.

Bianca and Lana both played for the inaugural senior women’s side last year.

The senior women’s side became a tightly-knit group over their season and are looking forward to welcoming new members this year.

The Club as a whole is currently in a strong financial position and looking to build on their success from last season.

The Club badly needs juniors to show interest in joining this season.

The Bushrats are actively recruiting for juniors from age four to 17 years and for any senior cricketers for their men’s, women’s, over 40’s and over 50’s sides.

If anyone is interested in becoming a part of the Bushrats cricket family send Club President, Neil Bell, a message on 0403 854 699 or email to tmcricketpresident@gmail.com.
