On Friday May 24, thanks to Liz Corcoran, the Albert River Winery will be home to The Girls Night out from 6pm till 10pm.
This event is held in order to raise funds for the Canungra Community Cancer Care (CCCC), a charity supporting the Can Assist (formerly Pink Assist) program that provides critical financial support to members of the community undergoing cancer treatment.
Janine Rockliff, co-chair/secretary to the Canungra Community Cancer Care Inc, says “The Girl’s Night Out is the first event being held in support of CCCC, which is the recently formed charity transitioning the Turning Canungra Pink event series from the Chamber of Commerce.”
Turning Canungra Pink is an initiative that started with Di Crooks, a local café owner, in 2010. After over ten years of being run by the Chamber of Commerce, the decision to form an independent charity was made and supported by the Chamber.
“The volunteer committee for CCCC is honoured to continue to support the community,” says Janine.
“CCCC will be holding fundraising events throughout the year as well as the Turning Canungra Pink event series in October with funds distributed through the Can Assist program (formerly known as Pink Assist).”
Tickets are $99, which includes canapés, champagne on arrival and a two-course meal.
A fashion parade featuring items from My Country Escape, Louie and Oopsie and All About Boho will be held, and live music will be played throughout the night.
