Oscar has lived and breathed sport his entire life and rugby union is his passion.

He played for his school, King’s Christian College, where he was awarded the King’s Christian College Player of the Year – 2023 and MVP Balleymore Cup.

He also played for Nerang Bulls Rugby Union Club, skippering the Under 18s to win the Gold Coast grand final last year.

The Australian Schoolboys defeated the Tongan Schoolboys 50 to 26 in the final match of the Schoolboys Trilateral series in 2023.

Following the Schoolboys competition, Rugby News described Oscar as one of the standout players of the competition.

“Oscar Lane is a fantastic on the ball backrower who has led his team to the Australian Schools final on Thursday.  Lane is lightning quick, super tough over the ball and works hard around the park.”

Oscar was selected as the IGA Sportsperson of the Year from ten monthly nominees who had competed in sports as diverse as golf, dance, sports dogs, cheerleading, muay thai and judo.
